School Houses

Celebrating Team Spirit, Tradition, and Excellence in Sport

The vibrant house system at Aquinas College Akure forms a vital part of student life, promoting healthy competition, unity, and school spirit. Each student is assigned to one of six school houses, each named after revered saints and distinguished by unique colours:

  • St. Thomas – White House
  • St. Francis – Blue House
  • St. John – Green House
  • St. Eugene – Red House
  • St. Michael – Yellow House
  • St. Williams – Purple House

These houses are more than just colour groups; they represent identity, tradition, and a sense of belonging. Throughout the academic year, students compete in various intra- and inter-house activities, with the annual Inter-House Sports Competition being the highlight of the calendar.

This prestigious sporting event showcases talent, teamwork, and athletic excellence across multiple disciplines. It is a time when house pride runs high, friendships are forged, leadership is tested, and every student, regardless of background, is encouraged to participate and shine.

The Inter-House Sports is not only a platform for discovering sporting talents but also an opportunity to instil discipline, perseverance, and school unity. Parents, staff, and alumni turn out in full support, making it a truly unifying and memorable event in the life of the college.
