Akure Chapter Chairman

Eminent Artist Oladotun Fadeni

I am Oladotun Fadeni, an alumnus of the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), where I graduated in December 1986. Shortly after, I secured employment with the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja and was posted to Okigwe, where I spent seven impactful years before being transferred to Odogbolu in 1992.

While in Odogbolu, I had the opportunity to reconnect with my roots by attending ACAOSA meetings for my 1973–1978 set in Akure. In what felt like the blink of an eye, I was entrusted with the role of Secretary of the set.

During my tenure as Secretary, I proposed that our set embark on a legacy project. With full cooperation and support, we successfully erected a statue—now standing proudly in front of the ACA Administrative Block—as a symbol of our unity and contribution.

In parallel, I actively participated in the ACAOSA Home Branch, then under the leadership of Dr. S.B. Akerele. Having been transferred to Akure by that time, I hosted the branch on two occasions.

As the college prepared to mark its 50th Anniversary in 2001, I was honoured to be appointed Chairman of the Souvenirs Committee and Vice Chairman of the Building Committee, working under the able leadership of Engr. Banji Faloye.

My involvement didn’t stop there. In 2014, I was appointed Secretary of the Committee responsible for constructing and overseeing the Henry Ogiri Memorial Hall, including its maintenance and repair management. In 2017, I was again entrusted with the position of Secretary for the renovation of the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology laboratories, a project successfully completed in 2019 under the chairmanship of Engr. M.O. Olowoyeye.

In 2020, I was appointed Chairman of the National & Worldwide Souvenirs Committee, where we were able to raise substantial funds for the association.

In August 2024, I won the election as Chairman of the ACAOSA Home Branch. Since assuming office, I, alongside fellow executives, have been actively working to reposition and revitalise the branch—a task that has proven to be both challenging and rewarding.

Most recently, in March 2025, I was appointed ACAOSA National Chairman of the Convention Committee. With the collective efforts of the committee, we continue to push forward with purpose and unity.
