Dr. Oluwasanmi Aina

Dr. Oluwasanmi Aina is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Anatomy at the University of Ibadan, with over 20 years of experience in teaching and mentoring agricultural science students and preclinical veterinary medical students.

He holds foundational postgraduate training in Veterinary Pathology, where he served as a registrar at the university’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital, and in Veterinary Anatomy, his current field of expertise. His academic and research focus lies in ecotoxicology, with significant contributions in digital microscopy, histomorphometry, and histopathology in in vivo studies.

Dr. Aina is presently developing a comprehensive teaching and dissection manual for Fish Anatomy, designed for preclinical veterinary students. He also brings a wealth of expertise in exploring medicinal plant-based solutions to environmental toxicological challenges. His Master’s and PhD research in Veterinary Anatomy investigated the effects of the agricultural pesticide Carbendazim on Japanese Quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) and African Catfish (Clarias gariepinus), respectively.

A respected academic and leader, Dr. Aina currently serves as the Chairman of the ACAOSA Ibadan Chapter, where he continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of both veterinary education and alumni engagement.
